Welcome to my website! I am a Queer Latinx artist. I do all things theatre and am continuing my exploration of visual art with a tube of eyelash glue, a bottle of paint, and cans of spray (hair- and -paint).

Your Portrait as Frida
This work is part of a series of portraits that included pop culture icons without faces from 2017-2019. I was exploring ideas of gender, race and representation. 8x10" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas panel.
La Calavera
The skull is very much part of my Mexican culture and iconography. It speaks to ideas of life and death and life after death. The image was created by manipulating a previous work by Andy Warhol called, "The Skull." 16x20" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
Resist
This image is part of a triptych created in January 2017 just before Trump took office. In each panel we see a nod to pop art and reproduction. His head takes up most of the canvas and his mouth remains contorted in another vicious lie. 8x10” - acrylic and spray paint on canvas panel.
Roxsana
Portrait of Roxsana, a Honduran trans asylum seeker, who came to America for a better life and died while in ICE custody after repeatedly being denied medical care. 16x20" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
The Treachery of Erections
This work was created after doing research on Robert Mapplethorpe and the obscenity trials in 1989. I was thinking about art versus pornography. At the same time, I was also looking at works by René Magritte and interested in exploring surrealism. It is tongue-in-cheek request to think about art and pornography and what is deemed obscene. 16x20” - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
Keith on a Skateboard
Keith Haring died of AIDS in 1990 and as COVID-19 hit, I felt a strong reminder of the AIDS pandemic. The graffiti image was inspired by his popular figures in an embrace. In this instance, I have added face masks to the figures as a sign of the times. 16x20” - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
Silenced and Fetishized
This is another Mapplethorpe and Magritte mash-up. I was thinking about white fragility and its effect on people of color. 14x18" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
Willful Ignorance
I am in love with the surreal advertising work of Guy Bourdin. This piece is based on an iconic photo of his. 16x20" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas.
Beam Me Up!
This self-portrait is just a response to my general anxiety during 'rona season. Got my covid moustache and a Haring reference to comfort me. 8x10" - acrylic and spray paint on canvas panel.
